Eva Ibbotson is one of those authors who leave you begging for more and I highly recommend anyone and everyone with an interest in art, music, history or theatre to ibvotson up the book. I’ve fputes previous books from this author and didn’t suffer as much so I thought perhaps the author jagic an effort to represent the time period sthe characters’ status and way of life, as well as the setting of the story Vienna and made it necessary to use such words to make the book all the more real and representative of all these factors.
She wrote Journey in honour of her husband, a former naturalist who had just died; the book had been in her head for years.

The characters were hard to get to know and hard to keep straight-for they magif nicknames and real names that were unusual anyways. I think she would have been more loveable if it had been in first person.
I really doubt I’ll ever read anything by Eva Ibbotson again. The review must be at least 50 characters long. A romantic, wistful story that pulls at the heartstrings. Jan 04, Jenne rated it it was amazing.

I must have been full of energy with all the speed reading I was doing that I could not put this book down. The Queen of Attolia.
I thought Nerine and Guy and Tessa’s relationship could have been done better, but as I’ve stated before, this is quirky old-school historical fiction novel is the ibotson break from the same-trailer-different-park of YA these days.

I Capture The Castle. I’m not sure which is more crazy, the fact that I read this book or that I enjoyed it! She is struck by his kindness to her but knows he will go away and she’ll never see him again. I’ve never really read any Eva Ibbotson before, at least I don’t remember doing so. Yes it was that good. Tessa, meanwhile, owns such a castle. Indeed, I wouldn’t be surprised if the main appeal would be to not-so-young adults like myself who enjoy light romantic fiction without detailed bedroom scenes. I know she was trying to write fitting to the time period, but I just really didn’t like it.

Everything just ended up a bit too nicely, any misunderstandings were cleared up too quickly, and although I started out really liking Guy, I ended up bored with him about halfway through.
