That being said, I admire the effort Stone put into breathing life into Van Gogh’s story, and his pursuit of maintaining truth and authenticity in storytelling a lot of the content I’m glad I got to finally read a book about the life of an artist, and I think Irving Stone puts a lot of effort and depth in portraying Van Gogh.
Nor had I ever learned much about Van Gogh beyond the facts that he was troubled, cut his own ear off, and died young and poor.
It was ok, only read half of the book. The correlation between good artists and hypersensitive natures was painted in bold strokes. There was also an interesting part in the book where he was living in Paris and all these other artists were there also.

Its tells the tale of a very sad soul but its so beautiful, many parts had me crying It shows glimpses into the life of a man who struggled so much and yet always gave all that he had and worked with a fervor and passion to put into art all that he felt and to imbibe in every piece his emotions and a bit of himself and his beautiful, tortured soul.
The chief value of art, Vincent, lies in the expression it gives the artist. Constantly second-guessing the author doesn’t really lead to a great reading experience. A cradle was not like anything else ; there was no fooling with it.

Those were interesting interactions. I loved seeing how Van Gogh grew as a person as well as an artist. The men anheol it were all powerful personalities, fierce egoists, and vibrant iconoclasts.
Lust for Life is a biographical novel written by Irving Stone based on the life of the famous Dutch painter, Vincent van Goghand his hardships. I already knew the basic eo of Vincent’s life, so maybe that was also part of the problem, no suspense or surprise, of course that isn’t the book’s fault. By the end of the book, it became apparent that neither of Vincent nor Theo could live without the Vincent van Gogh is considered one of the fathers of modern art. It seems probable that Vincent’s letters to and from his own brother Theo provided a foundation for Adversary in the House.
