It covers tons of stuff, in good detail, with very informative explanations. There is no comparison between a large, comprehensive, professional book like this and the typical PACKT books that seem to be pumped out every other week, and which contain far far less information, the English is usually hard to follow, and the code doesn’t work. The content is excellent, of course, but it is time these tomes were split up into, say, five books and sold as a set.
I just can’t hold the book open and read it – much too thick. This remains the bible for C and. I have read every edition since “Pro C and the. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. Perhaps I’m just out of my element. I’ve not worked in a C language variant before. I was looking for something that would bring me up to speed on C so I could read and use amdrew that I find to help in development with other tools.
I’m certain I can do this but this book is coming up short for me. Earlier in the book I could work around the errors and omissions regarding the book exercises but now they are simply too many to work through.
This is very frustrating and distracting. Another point is I don’t think they’ve done a good enough job reviewing material from previous chapters. They anderw reference previous material but fail to review and, using the cloud Kindle edition hint: Perhaps if you’re a C language wizard you will get a lot out of this.
I’m finding myself mystified by concepts I just can’t understand from their sketchy explanations. Working through the errors actually helps cement other skills I’m sure I’ll need, but only if I can resolve them. Right now the examples are too hard for me to work to resolve them. A text book version of this, with a separate project workbook would probably work better.
I will update further as I bull through this but right now I can’t rate this highly due to the errors and difficulty in using this edition.
If you try to enter the examples right out of the text book as I have you will fail. This is because of the errors and omissions I mentioned above. Aand.net workaround I suggest is bringing along the author’s projects and comparing – you should be able to fill the holes and complete the wiring of your projects, along with Intellisense.
One of the major omissions you will find is the author’s lack of citing proper references – but Intellisense is able to fill those in, for the most part. I’m convinced I will need a second run-through of the book, but I’m not sure I’m up to it. I am now sndrew the Razor Pages tutorials free I might add and hoping that suffices. One of my major targets is ASP. NET so I’m glad to find this, perhaps more up-to-date alternative. I have to admit that – looking at the RP material – having worked through this book does make RP more palatable.
I completely forgot I’d attempted the RP tutorial before this book but gave up due to lack of understanding. Now I’m picking andrrw on it. It covers most of cutting edge technologies in. It gives high level overview and understanding where to dig deeper. Complete and thorough coverage.

Pro C# 7: With .NET and .NET Core [Book]
The book is very well structured, clear and with many examples that facilitates understanding. I have the digital version. There are a few minor mistakes, and many of the code examples could be better or at least made to be more relevant.
However, this book does a fine job of thoroughly covering basic the information any serious C developer should be aware of. See all 23 reviews. Amazon Giveaway allows you to run promotional giveaways in order to create buzz, reward your audience, and attract new followers and customers.
